I was wondering if I bought it already prepared in the store, what section do I look for it? Yesterday I went to Fare-way, I asked around and no one knew what I was talking about. I thought when I go to Hy Vee tomorrow I would look there. I am going to take your recipe with me in case they don''t have it and I will make my own. Thanks.:flowerforyou:0

I tend to find hummus in the deli area. At least in my grocery store, the produce and the deli (where you get cold cuts, etc), are around the same place and that is where I find the hummus. The roasted red pepper is GREAT!!!0

Look in the international section (mediterranean) of the grocery store if your store has one. I find the best hummus is usually there!0 -
For those of you whom arent big cumin fans, here is my recipe for Hummus. Fast and easy! Tip: If its to thick for your liking ... thin it out with a tablespoon of water at a time to desired consistancy. If your in a real hurry dont drain and omit the olive oil.
The can: Chickpeas
The plan: Hummus in a hurry
Rinse and drain 1 can (16 oz) chickpeas. In food processor, ( Or blender, or submersion thingie ) combine with 3 Tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice, 2 Tbsp tahini, 1 Tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp bottled minced garlic, and 1/8 tsp crushed red pepper. Process until smooth. (8 servings, huge 1/4 cup serv.)
