Does anyone receive this? Does it work or help? Any information on what to expect? I'm thinking about getting one, but don't know if it's worth it...

From what I have read it is more geared to whatever sport you do and those muscles that you use, but I'm not entirely sure of the difference myself... hence why I'm asking about it.

I do occasionally if I've been doing a lot of running but usually I just foam roll, this blog http://nickgrantham.com/?s=Foam+roller has good info about it.

I will have to look into this. I am mainly wanting a massage for sore muscles and possibly my knee that keeps swelling up and being a pain some times.

I get one almost weekly. I swear it is what keeps me moving, flexible and pain free. Friend me if you would like more details.

I played football through college, in softball, baseball and basketball leagues as an adult, and am an avid golfer. Just get a deep tissue massage. Your therapist, if she is worth her salt, will identify and spend the most time on your muscles needing the attention.

Yep. I go monthly (or so) and just tell him how many miles I've run, how much speed work I did, and how much stretching I haven't. He figures out what to do to "fix" it. Be prepared for it to be uncomfortable, and be prepared for your therapist to "need" to work in places you'd maybe rather not have someone poking and digging around. Although if you can tolerate it, it's well worth it.
