Muscle building for women? HOW?

Hi y'all
Can someone shed some light on how to build a little muscle in order to lose belly fat / hips and tone all over?
Is simple 1.5 kg dumbbell shake weights are ok? I don't want way big muscles like men. Just as so I can lose weigh at resting period too.
And what workout/ exercises can I do?
I'm thinking to do insanity twice a week , calorie counting, running on treadmill for 30 minutes and muscle building.
I still trying to figure out what and how to do it! ~
I'm 155 lbs - 5'1 height - pear shaped body.
Can someone guide on how can I accomplish to lose 30 lbs in 2-3 months?
Many thanks

You lose weight by being in a calorie defict, a reasonable one if I may add. You build strength by weight training. Cardio can aid in creating the calorie defict but it is not necessary for weight loss...neither is weight training. However, when it comes to body composition and the way you look as you lose body fat, weight training will help give you the results that you are after. Also, 30 lbs is not a lot of weight to lose, so I would suggest instead of focusing on a time frame to lose weight in, focus on over-all health and life improvement!
You will not get "bulky" and you certainly will not look like a man! It is difficult for men to add lean muscle mass at that!!
I suggest the program Stronglifts 5x5, especially for someone starting out.0 -

This is correct. You do not want to be at a calorie deficient if you're wanting to gain muscle and only if you want to lose fat. Working out now will bring out more potential in the muscles you already have, which is good, because it will raise your metabolism a bit to make weight loss easier. It will also help your workouts be a lot more fun as your muscles will be in shape to help you achieve more.
Once you lose your weight, or get close to it, I can suggest you eat a little over your maintenance in calories so you will continue to grow strong without really adding unwanted fat. And, unless you're taking testosterone, you won't be in a women's massive muscle championship any time soon.0
