Greek Yogurt and Granola questions

I finally got brave and tried Greek yogurt - yum! And I love how much protein is there. Yesterday I ate caramel Greek yogurt (110 cal) with half a banana for breakfast. It was ok, but I think there's probably a more enjoyable way to eat the greek yogurt for breakfast. What do you like to eat it with to make it a good breakfast? I usually like to use 250 calories or so for breakfast. Also what flavors of Greek yogurt taste best? I was so tempted to buy the honey flavor, but a little afraid to try new things!
And secondly, what kind of granola is healthiest? In the past, I've looked at it and it always seems so high in calories and sugar. But it does seem like that would be good paired with the greek yogurt. So if you could recommend a specific brand or where to buy it, that would be great. Thanks!

I eat the Fage Greek Yogurt that have the flavorings to add with them. I pair that with 1/4 cup of Kashi Go Lean. Very filling, very tasty! Roughly 178 calories I believe. I have tried the Strawberry (my favorite) Peach, and Honey. I didn't care for the peach but I definitely like the other two.0

I've gone through so many brands of greek yogurt...oh my!
The best I've found is Brown Cow (fruit on bottom). The StonyField Farms Oikos is a 2nd runner up. Next is the Fage (only b/c of price). I'd get the Fage most frequently because they put the fruit jelly stuff on the side so I have a bit more control over how much of it is in the yogurt, like if it tips over it won't mix in like the Brown Cow or Oikos, but it is a bit more costly. I'll eat it with an apple on the side for the fiber.
I avoid the honey because there's a lot more sugar in that flavor compared to the berry flavors. My mom loves the plain with a little cinnimon (and maybe splenda). Add some almonds. If you really want the honey, get the plain and add your own honey to it. It seems like the honey flavors are more like a honey syrup.0 -
Hi! I usually have a little Greek yogurt everyday, the plain version, just to cut down on sugar.
Because it isn't that tasty plain, I usually put a little bit of granola (maybe 30-50 calories worth), and lately I have been throwing in some of the Wyman's frozen wild blueberries--it really adds just enough flavor so it isn't too boring. As for granola, there are so many different kinds out there. Lately I have been buying Sweet Home Farm, Maple Pecan. It's really good! Also, Cascadian Farm Honey Oat Granola is another one I like on Greek yogurt. These are at the regular grocery stores. I use some local ones too--just look for all natural ones to keep it healthy. They all have a lot of calories--it's just a matter of making sure you only use a small amount.
Have fun exploring!0 -

I agree! I've tried a couple of brands of the honey flavored and it's not "real" tasting to me... but plain greek yogurt with 1/2 tsp of raw honey is AWESOME (over strawberries!!! ).
I like the Chobani flavors, my favorite is Chobani Pineapple (it's 2%, but so worth it... I just only have 2 a week.. LOL). Yesterday I ate it with 1/2 cup of plain ole bran flakes. My favorite granolas are from Trader Joe's, they seem to be lower in fat/sodium than most.
I like the TJ's brand of plain greek yogurt too, but TJ's is a little far away so I only get there once a month. I stick to Oikos plain most of the time, simply due to the fact that I have store coupons for it.0
