Work opinions please
Hello!
I might have two opportunities at work, and they both are great, and I'm not sure which one I will want to take if I am offered both. Currently I work at a law firm in Florida l that specializes in foreclosures, so we are busy and we are always growing! I've been there now for 14 months.
Currently I work in the mail room, yea not the most exciting thing. However, my team lead is being promoted to supervisor - and they are thinking of making me team lead! Which is great and would look great on a resume, and could lead to other things down the road!
However, I applied for an internal position for more of a legal side of things. Not a legal assistant quite yet, (it's a foreclosure ligation administrative specialist) but it's going to step me in that direction, and that is what I really would like to do, and the hours will be better too probably too!
Not sure of the pay and what will be better, but either way it would be better that what I make now.
What would you do if you were in my situation?
Thanks for any input!

Either sounds good -- it just boils down to whether you feel like you'll stick with this particular company as your career (and that wouldn't be a bad thing from the sound of it) or whether you are simply using this as a "building block" for another career. If it's the latter, I'd say stick with team lead, because as you say it looks great on a resume. If you want to stick with this company I'd spice things up and go with the litigation administrative specialist.
Good luck!0 -
I say go where you're real interest and passions are, especially when the pay difference isn't dramatic.
I got an entry level job at a large corporation as an "in" but instead of making the jump to where I wanted to be afterwarda, I followed the promotions being given to me in the current job and ended up being pigeonholed into a specialized career track that was difficult to move out of. So...0 -

Thank you both for the suggestions!! When you mention, passion - the FC admin specialist is more my passion because it will get me more to where I want to be in the future.0
