Hey! I just bought a food scale yesterday, never used one before. It is the Cat Cora one that has a bunch of pre-programmed foods and stuff in it. I used it yesterday to weigh a potato and it weighed double what the bag said, which made me concerned that I've been over eating by relying on packaging. Now today I weighed a pork chop. from superstore, center loin chop. It is 6.70 oz. which according to MFP is 274 cals. but with the pre-programmed info in the scale it says my pork chop is 409 cals. Now I am not sure which one to go with here. and also if it is usual for packaging to be so off? Any advice would be greatly appretiated!

I don't know about the pork chop but I have seen on potatoes where it will have a calorie count for 1 potaoe and does it in weight too. I found that if I ate the whole potatoe that I had two servings of the amount of calories listed.0
