Never Thought I would be sorry to lose weight....

...Until today. I should be happy! I am at a weight I haven't seen since 1993. I finally found a way (MFP) to get under 175 after losing 65 lbs and getting stuck -- for 8 years. I'm in a size 10, and they're baggy- this the girl who wouldn't buy size 22 jeans when my 20s were too tight because that was "too fat". So what's the bad thing that's making me want to shove Recces in my mouth in large quantities? Loose, saggy skin. In strange places. Under my arms, on my knees, the bend in my elbow. Part of it is age I'm sure, but I'm suddenly wondering if finally seeing collar bones is worth a bunch of loose skin where my (very pleasing) cleavage used to be. I found myself searching the web for solutions (body scrubs, castor oil, weekly massage), finding myself thinking, "wouldn't fat plump up my skin faster?" And the daily purge of clothes that don't fit. I love clothes and have collected some beautiful pieces over the years, and yet I have nothing to wear. I know, boo-hoo for me. But I never expected depression over weight loss!

And I'm not done. I want to lose another 20 lbs, or try. Can I handle it? Anyone faced and overcome this?

I lose weight for health. I'm vain as all get-out, dont get me wrong and you bet your butt I lose weight to look attractive also. Still, number one priority is health. I would rather live longer than be fat. Congrats on your weight loss. I totally get where you are coming from trust me. I have to remind myself a lot too that being around to see my grandchildren is my real goal.

Maybe if you focused on health instead of how you look, you'd be happier? Everyone sags with age anyway. What matters is if you feel energized and able to move well and if you can be healthy enough to spend quality time with loved ones for many years to come.

i found, after huge babies, that it took a while for the skin to shrink back. i mean, it took 9 months to stretch it out so expecting it to ping back instantly would be overly optomistic.

i've no evidence but i wore HUGE panties that held the skin on my tummy in place. i'm thinking that maybe it might shrink back better if it's not got gravity pulling it out. who knows?

but, yeah, give it time. and if all else fails, nip & tuck might be for you.
