I understand the concept that your body will burn fat where it wants to burn fat and that you cannot spot reduce. I am also not an expert sports and fitness guru, like many on here are. With that being said, has anyone had success in reducing the size of your saddlebags? Any suggestions / successes would be appreciated.

modest calorie deficit and a good fitness regimen that incorporates strength/resistance training, not just a bunch of cardio. You really cannot spot reduce, but strength training goes a long way in burning off fat and changing your body composition.

What kind of exercise are you doing.? I find a combination of strength training and cardio with some high intensity interval training thrown in has helped me to get weight off my trouble spots in the past. Good luck!

    this.

also, ditch the steady state cardio, for more high intensity interval training, such as sprints, or hill running.

Reduce overall body fat. Eat at a calorie deficit. Exercise. Squats, lunges, and compound lifts will strengthen the muscle.

And patience, perhaps the most overlooked requirement of all. You have to keep going, keep working, and not give up. Because if you're pear shaped and put weight on your legs/thighs/hips easiest and lose it there last, it's going to take time to trim up those saddle bags :ohwell:

Everyone has already said this, and I'm no expert or guru, but will say just focus on overall fat reduction. Be patient and good luck!

The first time I tried Jillian Michaels 30 day shred, I lost 2 inches around each thigh (upper thigh where my saddle bags are) in the first 20 days! I don't believe that you can spot reduce either so this shocked me. It could have been my nutrition and the fact that I had hit 35 lbs lost and etc... But I always go back to side lunges and squats when I feel my thighs getting flabby again. Jillian Michaels also has a dvd called killer buns and thighs which has helped me shape my flabby big butt into the good kind of big butt lol ;)
