I miss lifting

So the weather has been getting nicer, and I've found myself not making time for the gym to strenth train.....at all. I have still been regularly exercising, but it's been all cardio. I enjoy being outside after the long, cold winter we had here. I've just been riding my bike and running or walking. Has anyone else noticed this happening to them?
What are you all doing to push yourself to make the drive to the gym? Obviously the $40 a month I pay to use it is not doing the trick. haha

Enjoy the break. Obviously you don't miss lifting enough to keep going. Perhaps you miss the idea of lifting. Or, you just need a break. I just took a few weeks off of lifting to focus on cardio. I enjoyed it. Now I'm back to lifting and I like it. How about setting a date on the calendar in a week or two when you'll start back at the gym? Maybe get a new shirt and shorts for that day.... get a special protein bar... make it special. It'll be that little bit of extra motivation that'll help you adhere to that date you set.0

Good point. I guess I dont really miss lifting that much if I cant motivate myself to do it. The drive to my gym is really the deterant tho. I recently moved and am thinking about joining the Y because it is bicycle distance from my house. I hate the thought of having to drive to the gym now that I live in town. Before I had to drive everywhere because I lived in the middle of nowhere, and I used to just go before or after work since I was already out and about. Now I ride my bike to work, and by the time I pedal home...I dont want to get in my car and drive 15 mins to the gym. The Y is literally right down the street from my work......
I think I just made up my mind...although I dread the crowded gym of the good ol YMCA.0 -
Being strong is it's own reward. If I stopped lifting, I'd get weaker again. I absolutely cannot fathom wanting to not lift these days.0

I've switched from strength training with a barbell to body weight resistance exercises, plyo work, and a bit of HIIT.
The upside is that I get to work out outside in the sun and in the park. The downside is that I miss the barbell.
There are few things that give me more pleasure than squating and DLing heavy.0 -

just go at 530am when it's still cold and dark outside.0 -

I know i'm a bird and all that blar blar blar, but this is exactly how I feel. I cannot imagine getting up and NOT wanting to go to the gym to lift. Maybe look at changing your workout plan? I know I got bored out of my brain and unmotivated after 5 months of Stronglifts, changed it and haven't regretted it once.0
