Why do I feel so guilty?

For the first couple of weeks of my weight loss journey I lost about 3 pounds. I was very happy about that. This week I didn't lose anything, more like I gained one of those pounds back. I've done more exercise, counting my calories, I'm working harder than before and that scale doesn't seem to budge. I have been eating below my 1200 calorie goal, but only a few days for the past couple of weeks. Could that really affect my weight loss? I wouldn't think so. I know the whole "weight loss isn't straight-forward" thing but I can't help but feel as if I've hit a problem in my loss. My diary is open (be warned, it isn't exactly a balanced one). Today I had a tiny finger sandwich (about the size of my palm), and counted it as 200, but I'm wondering if I'm either eating too little or too much and don't really realize it. Thanks.

there is so much posted about making sure you are eating your calories. I have not taken a peek at your log, though you stated something which made me curious. It is so important to eat a variety of healthy foods including a balance of carbs/grains/protein/fiber/fat. I believe if you use the MFP tool you will have provided suggestions for a "meal plan" of sorts based on your current weight, your weight loss goals etc. It is also important to remember to try and distribute your food through out the day. Hope this helps a little:heart:
Try to focus on the positive, that you have made some progress and that you are working towards better health:smile::smile:
    Best to you!

If you're working hard, it could be your muscles hanging onto water as they repair themselves. Losing weight is for the long haul, so it's generally best not to change your plan too fast (unless you're routinely eating way under). Stick with what you're doing and measure yourself every couple of weeks and if you don't see a change in a month, it might be time to either tweak what you're doing (measure more carefully - both food and exercise) or try something slightly different.
