Basa Fillets

Since I have changed my eating habits, I am trying new foods. I've never liked fish or ate fish (except Tuna with TONS of Mayo). My friend suggested Basa fillets as they are a very mild fish. She said oven bake them with some lemon. I guess I over cooked them (375 for 30 minutes) and they were pretty dry and tasteless. Just wondering what other spices or flavors I could use to make these a tasty dish. I really want to start eating more fish.

Also suggestions for any other types of fish to start me off?
Thanks.

I never put them in the oven. Basa will take on the flavor of anything you cook with them. A can of low sodium diced tomatoes, a couple olives or capers, some roasted red bell peppers and some minced garlic makes a nice sauce for the fish that is flavorful enough.

Place the ingredients in a skillet, place the basa fillets on top of it all, cover and cook over medium heat until the fish is white. Then remove the fish and set aside. Turn the heat up to medium high and reduce the liquid by half, which should only take a couple minutes. Pour it over the fish.

Basa eww yukk. Buy some nice perch or barramundi etc. Do them in the oven in a paper and foil bag with lemon garlic, parsley or thyme for about 20-40 mins depending on the size. They will be super moist and tasty.

I use parchment paper inside the foil and fold the edges like in the foil demo.

Basa fillets are the only fish I will eat as very mild and non 'fishy'. Try placing lemon slices on top of the fish then loosely wrapping in tin/aluminium foil and serving with green beans...amazing! Also, nandos sauce is great as a marinade for them...my partner Robin can claim full responsibility for this great combination. Good luck with this by the way

cumin is gorgeous on this fish !!! just sprinkle it over and pan fry, just use a little water instead of oil. and a bit of salt and pepper too.
