Gross vs Net Calorie Burn

In my time on MFP I have read many discussions about calorie burning - the accuracy of MFP's database, heart rate monitors, eating exercise calories versus not eating them etc. It is quite confusing territory for a lot of people. I am not so concerned myself as I don't eat my exercise calories.
I was researching something and came across a very interesting article by accident - or providence. I think it may help some and I believe it explains why some estimates of burn are seemingly high.
I leave it up to everybody to read and make their own decision.
Cheers.
