weight fluctuations

i know that there is sometimes a tendency for weight to fluctuate on a day to day basis.. but i weighed myself last week tuesday morning (143.9) and then went in for a check up with the doctor thursday morning and weighed in at 148. so i weighed msyelf again friday morning, 145. I weighed myself this morning and came in at 146.

i am averaging a weight loss of 1 lb a week. I'd like for it to be 2 lbs a week, but its just so hard to gauge how i am doing with these kinds of fluctuations. I have 4 weeks to go before a trip i am taking to a beachy area for a friends wedding and really want to lose 8 lbs more so i can be confident in a bikini instead of self conscious. I am 5'2, weighing, i guess at 144lbs. Do i increase the length of frequency my workouts? stricter diet? lower calorie count (i get 1200 net calories a day)? more water intake? i was also thinking of doing a juice cleanse to reset my metabolism, ive had problems with juice cleanses in the past because while i do not FEEL hungry, i have issues getting past my own mental block about it. ive heard that a juice cleanse will help in increasing metabolism -- true or false?

Fluctuations are totally normal, I can be +/- 5lbs in one day, I know others who are more.

Also, it sounds like you weighed on the doctor's scale which could account for a difference.

2lbs a week is far too high of a goal with so little to lose. It is really only doable for those with 75 lbs or more to lose.

Juicing/cleanes/etc will not "boost" metabolism. Personally I would avoid it because any time I restrict foods, I tend to bloat/retain water once I started eating normally again.

I'd ignore the scale for a bit and just focus on calorie goals.
