"Magic" Food

I just read the post on someone losing more weight when she eats strawberries, as I was contemplating how frustrated I've been the past week or so because I haven't budged a pound, after losing a solid lb a week for 6 weeks, and it got me thinking about my diet, and I realized one thing I haven't eaten this past week that I was eating daily while losing was plain lowfat yogurt.
I'm sick of yogurt, but am thinking... is that my "magic" food? Or is it just a coincidence that I've stopped losing when I stopped eating it?
I'm going to err on the side of superstition and bring yogurt back into my daily diet and see if that changes anything.
Anyone else have an experience like this with a particular food?

I've seen a large number of websites say that people who include calcium in their diet lose more fat. Eating yogurt three times a day helped participants in one study lose 61% more than non-yogurt eaters (but other stats I've seen say 20%-30%).
I have at least one yogurt a day and swear by it also
If you Google "fat burning foods" you'll see the full list.0 -
You could be in a plateau but there are people that swear by fat burning foods. I swear when I have vinegar I lose more. I now only put rasberry vinegar on salads (nothing else) and my weight is doing great.
Calcium does aid in weight loss. Could you try some other calcium sources or some new flavors? Personally hate yogurt here so it will never be my magic food b/c I won't eat it!0 -
If it's a calcium thing (which I am always low on - it's one of the things I track, and I do take a prenatal vitamin for because I'm a nursing mom, but ran out this past week - !!!), I think I'll drink a glass of milk today instead of the yogurt.
Normally I love yogurt, but I think I ODed on it.0 -
my 2 magic foods are: Fage 0% fat free greek yogurt, and low fat cottage cheese! I think it's because of the high protein count, keeps me feeling full all morning. If I have 300 cals of cereal for breakfast, I'm starving in an hour. If I have Fage with some berries or cottage cheese with some craisins, both also 300-ish cal breakfasts, I'm satisfied until noon-one :bigsmile:0
