Finally moved off that plateau!

I had been doing great on my weight loss journey then I hit a brick wall. I plateaued out for 4 weeks and was so depressed I was ready to give up

I sat down and figured out my BMR and TDEE at some peoples' suggestions and found that I was consistently eating from 200-300 calories UNDER my BMR daily.

I did a metabolism reset by raising my goal to maintenance for 2 weeks then reducing to 85% of my TDEE. The first week of my cut I've shed 2 pounds.

I'm so happy. I'm never starving my body again - from now on I'm feeding it the nutrition it needs for my activity level.

Just had to share!!

thanks for the tip -- question: what do you mean by 85% of my TDEE
    My TDEE would be set at 2191 - 85% = 1753?

I am currently eating net 1400-1700 depending on the workout that day. I have been stalled for months in weight loss, and moved up my calories from 1200- 1420 about 3-4 months ago. I work out 5-6 days a week, some days i will do doubles (p90x in the morning, and light cardio in the evening) i am 5'5 136-138pounds.. suggestions?

    thanks :)

Great to hear! You know its really hard to get past the mental roadblock that eating less does not necessarily equate to losing more. I have to adjust up but am really struggling with it. Maybe two weeks of increased cals will do the trick!

I can not imagine you have much (if any) more to lose which will make things REAL difficult. I am also 5'5 and 136 weight would not look well on me. I have been down to 155 and people said I was getting TOO thin and got concerned LOL

Either way - being at the end of the weight rope you will find it harder to lose with so little left to lose. I would start concentrating on toning if you are not already

thanks chasetwins . I have been lifting/toning with p90x - almost complete the 90 days. Still have some areas in the legs and tummy region that I would like to slim... if i gain weight but get more toned i would be happy. I am just confused with all the posts for calorie intake, and get worried i am eating to little, or to much... there is way to much confusion out there
