An MS diagnosis really sucks. I spent several months in 2011 at a neurological rehab unit after contracting Guillain Barre Syndrome following Swine Flu. A lot of my rehab pals had MS. All the best of luck.0

My doctor didn't even catch it. My girlfriend at the time happened to be a nurse and noticed my fasting BS was a little high (109). Over the course of the following year my doctor monitored me and sure enough I was developing T2. Stepping up the exercise routine along with Actos (no longer taking because of the possible serious side effects of this drug) and Metformin, 2 grams a day, I've been able to keep my A1C in the 5's. It's different for everyone with the condition as far as controlling it goes, it's a constant battle achieving the correct balance.0

How did you find out you were diabetic...
What were your symptoms leading up to your diagnosis...
Do you have any genetic pre-cursors, or is yours onset from something else?
What is your current treatment plan?
1. A1C test.
2. Frequent urination in the night added to the basic knowledge that my weight was out of control led me to the doctor's office to specifically request A1C testing.
3. Definite genetic disposition, but I compounded it by smoking for 20 years and getting fat.
4. Metformin twice a day.0
