Hi everyone.
I am not sure if there is an official name for this but I started doing a certain type of training and was wondering if you experienced individuals know if it is effective for maintaing muscle and burning fat at the same time.
Here is what I started doing - Heavy lifting for about 3 sets of an exercise such as bench press then I do about a minute of fast cardio such as jumping jacks, burpees, planks, jump rope, sprints etc. Rest about a minute and then do more lifting on a different exercise and repeat the process for about an hour.
Sometimes I will just target a couple bodyparts such as chest and back in regards to lifting, other times it will be a few sets and I try to get the whole body worked out. I do this about 2-3 times a week and the other days are just cardio with sunday off.
Do you think this is a good routine or should I split my lifting and cardio for different days? Once I get to my goal weight I plan to focus mostly on just lifting with minimal cardio for warming up and cooldown.
