Gluten and Lactose Intolerant? TMI.

Ok so since I've started eating healthier, my body has fallen apart. My stomach is bloating, which it has LITERALLY never done before. Like not even during TOM. I've started feeling a bit nauseous, and as the day goes on, my stomach starts to churn and constrict, to the point where I am curled up in a ball with a hot water bottle, in bed by 7. I am also DRAINED from it. Like I sleep from about 8pm until 11am happily, and I am tired all day, where as usually I'd sleep from 12am to 8:30am, and wake up naturally and refreshed.

The best way to know if you are having a gluten or lactose intolerance is to completely cut these things out of your diet for 2-3 weeks. Keep a food diary and log everything you put into your mouth. A new diet will make you feel different at first, but it shouldn't last too long. If these symptoms persist you should talk to your doctor about it.
As far as recipes goes you can check out the natural foods section of your grocery. There are tons of food items that you can swap out. The great thing these days is that there are many items that we can use as alternatives to what we already love to eat. There are many gluten free pasta products, crackers, cereals, etc... Eat lots of fruits and veggies. When it comes to lactose problems I'm not 100% sure on how to handle that. I drink soymilk. Anytime I consume cow's milk (in gravies or soups) I end up spending plenty of time in the bathroom. Try cutting back on your dairy intake or taking a supplement that helps with dairy intolerance. But as I said before, talk to your doctor if symptoms persist or get worse.0 -
Make on change at a time - gluten or lactose - else you won't know which is the culprit.0

I agree with the above post. Try gluten free for 2 weeks. If that doesn't help try the lactose free for 2 weeks. Don't do both at the same time.0

Thanks so much guys! My stomach has calmed down, finally, but I'm still being pretty cautious. I think it was more so that I probably increased my fibre too quickly? Hopefully I won't jinx myself now.0
