Moving to Houston- any opinions on food, gyms, etc?

Hey guys! So I've been a California girl all my life but I'm moving to Houston in 2 months with my hubby for his job. I've heard the food is incredible out there, but was wondering if anyone on here had any opinions on the food, restaurants, bars, gyms, nightlife etc.! I'm not really sure what the culture is like out there but am really excited about the new adventure. Any info would be awesome! :)

    Have you been down montrose? I used to live in Houston too , montrose is a great place to be, I would also try some tex mex, can't get it better anywhere else
