I only just discovered this community. Three weeks ago I quit what I was doing bc I thought I was probably getting too many calories. When I put my info into the mfp app, it told me 1200 calories. I have been very diligent in doing that. I have not felt over hungry unless I am emotional. I have stayed the same weight instead of losing. You will probably all think I'm stupid, but I just discovered the BMR calculator. It says 1583 calories. Does that mean I need to eat that many? Or do I eat less than that to lose? I'm very confused.
Also, the last couple of days I have eaten more, and have started to gain. I'm really scared that I will gain back all of the weight I lost unhealthily.I have lost a little over 50 pounds, but I did not do that in a way that most people would call healthy.
I am not going to give up. I feel better than I have in a long time. Just a little frustrated that I am not losing. BTW I am 5ft 1.5 in and I need to lose about 80 pounds more to be healthy weight.

Hi there,
It took me a while to find out and figure out about BMR and TDEE formula. I found all this information reading message boards and blogs, there's so much info floating around that I bookmarked the best ones to read. Here's a few that can help. Good luck!

How to calculate your BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate)
This is your BASE metabolic rate, this means this is the bare minimum of your metabolic rate. This is what you would burn if you where in a coma.

To Calculate TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure)
This is how many calories you burn per day. If you eat at your TDEE you will maintain weight, you won’t gain or lose
