Hi All,

I am about 30 days in to using myfitnesspal and I lost 10 pounds in April.

Background: My starting weight was 220, so I'm down to 210. I started walking on the treadmill in mid January and didn't see any change until I started using myfitnesspal to curb my intake (about Easter). For many years I was 183 and I've never tried to lose weight before. I'm 36 years old and 5'3.

Mostly because of a career change, I gained 40 lbs over a two year period (I went from waitressing to a desk job & student).

I've always heard 1 pound per week is a good goal. I put in 1/2 lb per week on my settings, but as you can see, I've lost a pound every 3 days... sooo...

Why am I losing weight faster and is this okay? I've made my diary public if anyone wants to check it out.

Thanks for any advice!

Maybe it is water weight that you are losing. Looks like you are eating the calories, so I'm thinking it will slow down.
Good luck and keep at it!

The weight usually comes off quicker in the beginning but will taper off over time. That's the way it was for me anyway since I had a lot to lose initially. Just keep doing what you're doing and enjoy the rapid weight loss while it lasts.

They say that first ten pounds is so easy to lose because it`s mostly water.... I does feel good to see that water go tho!! lol

I lost very fast too. I never tried to control or restrict my intake until I started Weight Watchers and tracking my food in 2011. Once I did, the weight couldn't come off fast enough.

I'm under the firm belief that it's not natural for any woman to be in the 200s, even if you're tall. Once you switch to reducing calories and giving yourself better food and nutrients like you have done, you will see amazing results.

Good luck, enjoy, and have fun. You're going to be loving life.

My first month I weighed about 165 and I lost 10 pounds in that month. A lot of it is water weight, plus some actual fat loss.
