Which is better or does it matter?

Options
If you are going to work out for 30 minutes in a gym, is it better to keep on doing one activity for that time, or to split the time between different activities?

Example :
30 minutes-treadmill
or
10 minutes - elliptical
10 minutes - stationary bike
10 minutes - treadmill

I don't think it really matters as long as you keep you heart rate up. But it would keep you from getting board :)

    Both look hideous IMO.

But at least the latter will be somewhat interesting.

for the biggest burn i would say 30 min on the elliptical. That seems to burn more than a treadmill or bike.

I'd do 30 mins of heavy lifting with the free weights

I might get on a cardio machine for 2 mins to warm up first

As long as the intensity is high enough, I don't think it matters.

I personally do 30 minutes on one machine when I do cardio indoors.

Personally I would build the stamina on one machine. increasing distance/resistance day by day/week by week gives you more motivation

Personally, I split between at least three machines - because I would die of boredom otherwise.

I'd do one thing if its only a 30 minute workout.

But honestly, the 30 minutes would be better spent doing some type of strength training.

Thank you! I usually spend 30 minutes doing one thing. I haven't really gotten into strength training that much, but I'm working on it. My cousin recently started working out with me, and she does the 10 minutes on different things, plus she does strength training and includes that in her 30 minutes, but she only does 1 set of 10 reps on at least 3 different ones.

I just didn't know how beneficial that would be.
