Sportline HRM's... opinions needed

I was looking at HRM's at Wal Mart last night, and they had two Sportline versions. One was the S12 and I can't remember the model for the other one. The S12 has a pedometer which is cool...but the other comes with a chest strap and has on-demand HR.
I was wondering if anybody here uses either of these, and if you could give a review. OR... a recommendation for another brand. I know Polar is highly recommended, but I can't really afford $100+ right now.
Thanks in advance...

Like you said I believe polar is top notch. I caught mine on sale for $85 so if you look you might be able to find it.
Im sure those are probably capable of doing the job just as well. Make absolutely sure it has a chest strap so its accurate and not guessing.0 -
I wanted a polar too but I was on a budget so I picked up the walmart one, I have the one with the chest strap. Ive had it for 6 months and it works fine. All I use it for is to count cals burned I sure the Polar is more accurate but this is doing the job.0
