So confused. Help!

As my friends here know now, I'm currently recovering from EDNOS. (Eating Disorder Not Unless Specified) Right now I'm trying to get my period back. It's been 3-4 months and I'm trying real hard to get it back because as you all know, amennorhea has a lot of negative effects is a woman's body. Anyway, my question is, since I'm 19 years old that's currently recovering from an ED, should I stop weight training? I usually lift weights in my house every other day and do 100 squats and a minute plank. In school, I have P.E twice a week and our P.E is not really that tiring. I'm 5'0 and weigh 82 lbs. (I know, I know, I'm trying to get 90 lbs.) and I eat 1600-1800 calories a day. Should I still do weight training until I get my period back and eat more or is it okay unless I eat adequate amount of foods? xx

I have no idea on that one. Perhaps you could pose this question to your doctor. Are you doing protein shakes to supplement your weight training? That might be a good way for you to add some calories to your intake. Anyway, I hope you seek professional advice on your question in order to receive an educated response. Best wishes...:flowerforyou:

Light weight training will only burn 100-200 calories, so I wouldn't worry too much. Perhaps a protein shake afterwards? You can get around 200 calories and a ton of vitamins and minerals and amino acids out of them if you find the right one.

    Definitely talk to your doctor.

My understanding is that calorie burns from weight lifting continue long after your session ends and are much harder to accurately track than cardio. Weight training is awesome. I wouldn't stop - I would just get medical advice on the best way to do it.
