Feeling of Satisfaction when eating (FoS)

My own term, lol... FoS. I've noticed over the past four months that when I eat food that satisfies I stay fuller longer. It isn't really about quantity or quality. It is all mental.

Yesterday morning I had a smoothie with protein powder, banana, milk and ice and stayed full until 11am when I ate lunch. I love my smoothies lately.
This morning I had greek yogurt, same amount of calories or there abouts for breakfast after figuring in milk with coffee, etc. At 10am I was starving and I have been feeling hungry all day.

I notice that this is a pattern. If I eat things I look forward to, that I really enjoy eating, I tend to stay fuller longer. I could eat a couple slices of fresh mozarella with some sliced tomato, basil and some balsamic drizzled over the top and stay full for hours. Whereas I could eat something I wasn't really looking forward to as much and be hungry 45 minutes down the road!

What foods do you guys eat that you find "fills your brain up" so that you are FoS?

Kashi. That keeps me full for over 6 hrs. Not that I wait that long to eat but on days I cant eat I have that in the am.

It could be mental but in regards to your smoothie versus yogurt Its probably the extra protein in your smoothie that's helping you stay fuller longer.

I have noticed the same thing!

I was looking forward to a peanut butter and banana sandwich, but no bananas!

Possibly so, but this is just an example. I could eat a super good salad with fruit and veggies and hardly no protein and have the same FoS...versus a peanutbutter and jelly sandwich for example.

Another thing that I find: I don't drink coffee anymore. So when I have a really bad mood day or I'm mad I have to have a large coffee. Until I get that I'm a BEAST
