Problems with my Polar F4...any suggestions?

I have owned 2 Polar F4 and I really like them. When they hit about 6 months old both started acting up. Every once in a while they would read 200 to 250 when I was at 120.. Sometimes if I undo then put back together it would be fine. The first one ended up reading 400 one day so I got a new one. Has anyone had the same problem?

batteries? are you getting the strap nice and wet...sometimes when I'm in a rush I don't get it as wet as it needs to be and it gets wonky like that.

Mine acted like that til I bought a smaller strap. Once my strap was tight enough, I didn't have thought problem again.

Do you wash the strap weekly?
