adding barcode scanner to galaxy

I was informed you can scan your food barcodes to your daily food. I have a galaxy 3- would anyone know how to do this???

    Download the Myfitnesspal app in the play store. Then log into your account.

    When you go to add a food item to your diary, there will be a barcode button next to the area you usually type the food item.

    Tap the barcode button and it will turn your phone camera on. Then all you do is line up the barcode on your food package with the markers on your screen and it should scan it for you.
