I just signed up for my first 5K!!

So I am REALLY nervous...and not ready, but I took the plunge and did it! Will try to run/jog it some, but may walk the majority of it. Any tips or advice you can give are welcome and appreciated!

    That's awesome! Seriously having a race date in sight is a huge motivator for your fitness. Congratulations for sure.


    By the way, there's another lady with the same name as you that did the same thing in another discussion. You should make friends with her since you have the same goal.

    Start slowly. Warm up for the first 7-8 minutes. Find your groove and have fun. If you need to walk, slow down your jog and see if you can keep going. The best part about your first one is that you are out there to complete it :) No worries about time, just enjoyment. You'll love being part of a running party. Congratulations on signing up! That's an awesome step and for some of us to commit to that, it takes real courage. I just signed up for my second because the first one earlier this month was so fun. Got anybody who can go with you? Good luck!!!
