Hi,

So I have really only just started out running again. I did c25k last year and continued to then run a couple times a week until I completed my 5k. Once I had done this I then let it just slip and stopped running again.

Started running again about a month or so ago as have entered a 10k for the end of May.

So, I have set myself a challenge to up my mileage each week..

I am going to run a marathon over a week, every week in May. 27miles may not be alot to some runners as I know many net more miles each week than this, but for me it is going to be a big challenge!

If you would like to join, feel free, I am going to note my miles and update this on the days I run to keep a log of my progress.

If you only started running again a month ago, that's a lot of miles. Don't hurt yourself! The general recommendation is that runners increase mileage by 10% a week, and have a cut back week every 3 or 4 weeks where you drop mileage by 25% or so to allow your muscles to recover. I suggest building up your mileage more slowly, and make this month's goal a bit less aggressive.

Best of luck whatever you do!

I concur. I advocate a cut back week every 3rd week when you are building up. And don't go up two weeks in a row. A build up from 10 miles per week might look like this.
