Well, BMR is basically coma calories - the amount of fuel your body needs to just exist, doing absolutely nothing all day long - so if you're up and active, and pretty much NOT in a coma, doesn't your body deserve more calories?

I make sure I never net below my BMR, preferably a few hundred cals above it.

You are going to get a lot of responses on both sides of the argument and also from those that tell you that you absolutely must eat back your exercise calories and the opinions from the other side of the argument.

From my experience, I eat below my BMR and hardly ever eat back my exercise calories and I have averaged two-three pounds lost each week. I never feel hungry but I do have cravings once in a while for junk food that I satisfy with a small serving of chips and salsa or pretzel crisps or something similar.

Online calculators have told me my BMR is 1370. So I was trying to stay at that plus eat my exercise calories each day. Didn't work. Also tried eating my TDEE - 20%. 3 months later haven't lost a pound. I am now trying to do 1200 calories a day and see if that will jumpstart some weight loss.
