eating the rainbow

I've been trying to do the eat the rainbow in fruits and vegetables (you know some red, green, white, yellow, etc). What I can't figure out is do you count the inner color of the food or the outer color? specifically is a banana a yellow fruit or a white fruit? are red apples really that different from green apples ( and wouldn't they both be white)? are cucumber and zucchini green or white?

I think you're reading wayyyy to much into all of this. Just eat as many fruits and veggies as you can daily and document them in MFP.0

It is talking about the outside not inside and it is designed for you to be thinking about variety instead of restricting you to just a few. Eat as many as you can RAW and not cooked so the enzymes are still active and you get the most nutritional value.0

If I have a choice of what to eat, a rainbow isn't the first thing that comes to mind.0

As long as your dog's name isn't "Rainbow".0

If you're eating the peel count the color of the peel. The point of eating the rainbow is to get all your micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) from your food. These micronutrients are what give your friut and veggies their characteristic colors.0
