Protein Diet with the help of a dietitian

Hi everyone!
In januari I decided to make a change in my life and visited a dietitian, before then I would usually just go on starvation diets and gain it all back. I figured with the help of a dietitian I could loose weight in a good and lasting way. Also the weekly weigh ins would be extra motivation. The dietitian in question suggested for me to try a protein diet. Figuring they would know what's best I agreed and started my journey exited.
Now while I've lost a lot of weight, with quite a bit still to follow, I am getting incredibly nervous. While some sources tell me they are able to maintain their weight alot of them say the oposite. I am terrified of going back to the way I was before. Is it really possible to maintain this weight after I stop this protein diet and go to a healthy lifestyle, or will my body just start storing fat as soon as I start eating normal. With normal I do mean healthy, vegetables, fruits, water, ....
I'm sorry if it seems like a silly question but I've been stressing about it so much the past two or so weeks.

Maintaining your weight will consist of healthy lifestyle with better choices in food, moderation and exercise. Of course you will gain it back if you go back to eating out 3 times a day and sitting on the couch.
If you are on a low carb high protein diet just slowly introduce carbs. Don't hit a 2lb plate of pasta.0
