I need more potassium in my diet. I have bad leg cramps, twitching in the body and heart palpitations. I have read alot about this and I know I have a potassium deficiency (in er in Dec blood work showed low potassium) and take 99mg of a suppliment. I have read the diffrent foods but can anyone tell me more about this or how to get more into my diet please.

Along with the various foods that have potassium you can use lite salt. They reduce the sodium by adding potassium. Bear in mind that an excess of potassium is just as bad if not worse than a shortage.

I found that this is a great site to help me find foods that are high in potassium. I've read that it's best to not take supplements. In this article, it states to have a goal of 40x your goal weight. Since my goal weight is 130 lbs, my potassium goal is 5200/day. Most of the time, I do not make it, but every now & then, I do hit my goal of 5200.

I like that I am able to eat a baked potato, something high in potassium.

Consult a nutritionist because the electyrolyte balance, once disturbed can cause serious problems and be difficult to re-establish and remain stable. Here's a link containing the Top 10 potassium providing foods: http://www.healthaliciousness.com/articles/food-sources-of-potassium.php
