Tight calves - help?

10 weeks ago I had a knee arthroscopy a year after I first injured my knee running a marathon. Although I'm back running, limited to short distances , I'm still undergoing various treatments to try and prevent further injuries.
Today I've been given my proper orthotics to wear continually but they are also designed for sports specifically. When having them fitted the orthotist noted that my calves are really tight which won't be helping the overpronating problem.
My question is how can I loosen them? I stretch daily anyway but what else may help?
