getting a cold 3 days before my half!

So I've been training very hard for my third half (which is this Sunday!) I'm hoping to blow my PR out of the water by 15-20 minutes. But with that being said, I have a cold coming on. It isn't something I can't run through (sore throat and cough) I've ran through worst :) But I did pick up some of the zinc cold therapy, thought I would give it a try. But I have never taken it before. I did some digging and it appears that Zinc supplements aren't a bad idea for long distance runners anyways...has anyone taking these, does it hinder your running at all? Does it actually make the cold go away faster?

I always take zinc when I get a cold, i figure it can't hurt. I also take mega doses of Vitamin D3 and C and garlic. Hope you get over this quickly!! I also came down with a nasty sinus infection a couple days before my half. Not fun!!

I take zinc also. There is a brand called Zand that tastes pretty OK. Make sure that you get the ones that have 5mg of zinc instead of the 2mg. Make sure that you continue to take them when you start to feel better. Hope you start to feel better.
