    lots of recipes :~)

also for my grocery list just look at my diary. I buy a lot of diverse things..

ETA: new ideas is great.. but it's not what you buy.. it's how you cook it, what you cook it with and how much of it you eat in one sitting. The picking some recipes and getting your list from there is a great idea.

We feed two -- one vegetarian and one flexitarian. Our usual list looks something like this, though we don't buy every item every week.

    Tofu
    Morningstar Farms Grillers crumbles
    Eggs (2 dozen)
    Cheese (cheddar and jack)
    Almond or soy milk
    Soy creamer
    Whole grain bread
    Peanut butter
    Broccoli
    Carrots (baby and large)
    Celery
    Onions
    Garlic
    Sour cream
    Yogurt
    Salad greens (lettuce and/or spinach)
    Bell peppers
    Cauliflower
    Strawberries
    Whole pineapple
    Oranges
    Apples
    Coffee
    Brown rice
Herbs and spices (in bulk, as needed)
    Vegetable juice
Canned beans (black, chickpeas, pintos, kidneys, chili)
Oatmeal (rolled oats, not the instant stuff)
    Whole grain pasta
Pasta sauce OR canned tomatoes for making sauce

We are on a tight-ish budget, so we tend to buy in bulk, buy one or two kinds of fruit per week, and buy in quantities that offer the best per-piece price. We buy a lot of stuff on sale and freeze -- onions and peppers are chopped and frozen, for example. We will also sometimes buy tempeh, seitan, soy bacon, and other things if they are on sale or there is room in the budget. We have very few "one trick ponies" in our pantry -- everything can be used for multiple recipes. We also save all of our veggie scraps for broth. We buy seasonal produce as we can -- fresh tomatoes, fresh herbs, etc. We're going to try growing some of our own this year too.
  • Green tea & water
    EGGS
    Peanut butter
    Chicken
    Turkey slices
    Turkey pepperoni
    Whole grain bread
    Oatmeal
    Fat free cottage cheese
Green smoothie ingredients: kale, spinach, bananas, strawberries, oranges, apples, pineapple, chia seeds
    Spring mix salad
    Broccoli, cucumbers, carrots
    Greek yogurt
    Bean burgers
    Guacamole
    Almonds
    Pistachios
Silk almond milk (30 cal vanilla)
    Canned tuna
    Progresso light soups
    Yoplait frozen Greek yogurt bars
    100 cal kettle corn
    Light string cheese
    Go Lean crunch cereal
    Dark chocolate (for my cravings)

    ...I think that's it!

My diet generally consists of: Banana, broccoli, lemon, berries, mango, spinach, Courgette, lettuce, bell peppers, plums, dried apricots, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cottage cheese, Greek yoghurt, hummus, sesame ryvita, chicken, beef, mackerel, cod, salmon, potato, quinoa, bulgar wheat, green tea

things always in the house: bread, pasta, porridge, eggs, cereal, chocolate, apples, cucumber, tomatoes, celery, milk, breakfast frusili bars, fruit juice, grapes, nuts and dried fruit (unsalted)

I try to eat light to heavy as it suits my household - we've always had a big dinner together there are certain things I want to increase but I do take a range of vitamins and minerals including Aloe Vera and spirulina powder

I try to eat a variety of things to get a good range of nutrients but I think you'll always find repetition in your purchases -if its working for you don't worry.....

    I always buy:
    Yogurt!!
    Canned soup
    Carrots
    Pre-Made Salads
    Eggs
    Cheese (if needed)
    Mushrooms
    Apples or oranges
    Olive oil (if needed)
    Onions
    Tea
    Instant latte sachets
    Low fat cream cheese
    Natvia
    Diet soda
    Protein bars
    Apricots (if cheap)
    Strawberries (if cheap)
    Ingredients for recipes
A treat (bakery muffins are my weakness!)

I don't buy bread cause I go to uni and that food is surprisingly easy to get for free... (and I like to avoid it anyway). I don't like buying too many things I have to prepare because people steal things from the fridges in my hall.

flea market: cilantro, carrots, cucumbers, peppers, acorn squash, strawberries, blueberries, melons (so much sweeter than the store!)

salvage grocery: oatmeal, cereal bars, canned vegetables, canned tuna / salmon, dried fruit, odds & ends

regular grocery: meat, eggs, fat free cheese, items on buy-one-get-one, cocoa powder

    Costco: bananas (1.30 / 3 lb), sweet potatoes (6.50 / 10 lb), protein powder

I spend a crap load on food though, so I need to cut down big time and use more from my pantry.
It's very worth it to get fresh produce from the farmers at the market, though.
