all of thse are fine, just make some tweaks.
mashed potatos, can be subbed for mashed cauliflower or mixed with potatos with caulifower instead.
meatloaf, if the fat is drained out then not that bad.
bbq, if you do chicken and maybe make a homemade sauce with low sugar, shouldnt be an issue0 -
Chili, sheppard's pie, mac & cheese, beef stew. ~0

Jambalaya is a crowd pleaser in my experience, and not too costly/difficult to prepare & serve. I quick google searched and here's a low carb recipe (not that you're particularly looking for low carb ). This Allrecipe website is good because it lets you adjust the servings, eg, increase it to 70. Not sure how kid-friendly this would be though, just a thought:

What about chili (2 kinds, meat and vegetarian... and there are so many kinds you can make, from black bean, chain gang, spicy or mild, for example), served with greens or salad and corn on the cob. Dessert... what about fresh fruit and yogurt ice cream?0

Homemade pizzas with thin whole grain crust, tomato sauce, light on the cheese, add veggies to half of the pizzas for a more adult flavor but leave the kids' pizzas with just cheese. You could even add chicken to them.0

white chicken chili, or red chili made with turkey. Could have a carb such as baked potato or rice for those not watching carbs. You can load the chili with veg.0

Vegetable and Tuna or Chicken Casserole (this fits a large disposable tin serving tray for about 15 people, so just make extra trays of it)
I bag of Rozoni Whole Grain Egg Noodles (cooked)
Large Healthy Request Cream of Mushroom Soup
Large Healthy Request Cream of Celery Soup
1 cup milk
1 or 2 Large Cans of Low Sodium Tuna or Chicken (in water, NOT oil)
1 Large Can of Green Beans - Low Sodium
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 cup onion, finely chopped
1 cup carrots finely chopped
1 cup celery finely chopped
1 tablespoon butter -optional but gives it a good homey flavor
Frenches Fried Onions - Good, but not required, and adds calories
To the cooked noodles, add the canned things, and the milk and mix well. I saute the veggies in the butter. Then add it to noodle mixture. Use half the fried onions inside the casserole and the rest for the top the last five minutes. Bake for about 45 minutes at 375. One tray feeds about 10-15 people
Serve this with large green salad and some rolls, easy and yummy and high in protein.0 -
