Plateau already????!!!!

I have been on this site for about a month. I stay within my allotted calories. I walk like crazy and I have already hit a plateau. I have been the same weight for a week. I need some encouragement, because I have been this same weight for 10 years and it has got to go!

I know it's disappointing when you see the scale get stuck but honestly one week is not a plateau. Don't set yourself up for more disappointment by expecting your weight loss to be a certain way. It seems like when we get started we expect to lose a certain amount on a weekly basis and it doesn't always happen that way. That doesn't mean it's not working and we should just give up. That'll never help you reach your goal. I suggest you take your measurements, make sure your calorie deficit is reasonable, and keep walking. Weigh yourself once a week first thing in the morning and take your measurements again in two or four weeks.

Just so you know I understand how you feel...I've only lost one pound in the last month. I was on track for all but about 5 meals. I've lost inches which is better than losing pounds because it means I'm shrinking! But if I had only paid attention to my weight I would have drowned my sorrows in cake weeks ago.

A week is not a plateau. Weigh yourself weekly and record that. If it stays the same for 4 weeks or more, you may have hit a plateau.

Hi, I hear you on this. I really like to watch youtube and I saw this great video where Dana Lee who gives great advise said these things I have added the website here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=usb0KjfTfQc. Check it out, but if are unable this is what I got from her. she said.

Frist and foremost "Trust in the process, because it does take time, but if you feel like your doing all the right things which she says are
    1) drinking plenty of water 64 oz
    2) cut the sugar/ eating less processed/ eating more whole foods
    3) working out 3-5 times a week ( different videos, exercises keep your body guessing " becuase if it doesnt challenge you it doesnt change you "
    4) watch portions/calories if body is not reacting cant budge the pounds dont restrict too low of calories maybe up the calories.

    _
Then if only then you might want to get your hormone levels checked out by a doctor, because if you can't seem to budge those pounds and your doing everything right she said it may be due to something more and she added that stress is also a major hidden factor why you might be struggling to loose weight, Hope this helps.

Try to vary your workout and stay away from processed food. I know some people will say that a week is not a plateau but I would feel the same way. In fact I have felt that way in the past. What will happen sometime is that you will not lose anything for a week and then weigh in and 3 pounds are gone. Keep your head up and keep your body moving!

I don't believe a week is a plateau either. I have been doing this for 36 weeks some weeks I'm up two pounds the next down four. Sometimes I stay the same or only loose .2 lbs. This is going to take time. Be patient.

Try a zig zag calorie intake.

It's a week. I wouldn't call anything a plateau until a month has past. Chill.
