someone told me that i should ideally do weights and cardio on different days. is that true?
why or why not?
is this for a general weekly schedule okay?
My current schedule:
M- weights
T- les bodycombat
W- les bodystep
T- weights
F- tennis
Sat- off
sun- les bodycombat and body pump
I have 3 weight routines that i am currently doing: a leg day, a push day, and a pull day... so i cycle through those 3 throughout my weeks. on sunday i do a bodypump class that is more muscle endurance and full body.
suggestions welcome. thanks in advance.

I've heard the best option is to do weight training prior to your cardio, but don't remember why that is. Based on that remembrance, IF I actually do cardio (bad knees, bad lungs, so it's walking typically), I will do my weight training first and then hop on the treadmill or go for a walk outside.0

Different theories. You can find what would sound like valid reasoning to support each one. Theory behind weight training prior to cardio is the weights will deplete your glycogen level, leaving your body to pull from fat for energy. Same theory as doing cardio first thing in the morning (glycogen levels will be depleted from your overnight fast). What is correct? I don't know. Just try different things and see what works for you.
Also, I would swap one of those les days for weights. That would give you three weight days and three cardio days. If you want to have a toned, fit look you have to lift weights. You do not HAVE to do cardio to lose weight. Cardio is good and makes you more healthy, but you can lose fat just running a calorie defictit. I rarely do cardio, and lift 5x per week. And I am losing weight very steady.
This book gets high praise among the women on my friends list. Based on that, I recommend you check it out.

I do cardio the same day as weights except if it's leg day. Leg day I go pretty heavy and have literally zero energy left for cardio afterwards.0
