Is anybody knowledgeable on used bike values?

My husband has this older bike...its a K2 Proflex 1000, and he got it used (in a tradeoff for helping with a house project). I think its about a 1998, and looks like this one below (only black). Anyway, he bought a newer, more comfortable riding bike this year, and we want to list this for sale, but haven't been able to really get any pricing guidelines online. Does anyone have any idea what the value might be? I know it was an expensive (over $1000 bike) originally, but is older, and presumably has older 'technology' than what's available today...
