TDEE vs Satisfying the Protein Macro

New to these concepts so please don't be too harsh. If you can point me in the right direction, that'd be great. I've looked over the roadmap post as well.
If you are not working out but are trying to maintain LBM while losing weight, are you still going to lose LBM if you are at a calorie deficit but hitting your daily protein macro?
Or is it, as long as you're at a calorie deficit, regardless of hitting macro, you're still going to lose LBM?
Thanks in advance.

Technically it all comes down to calories.
However, if you're eating 15% below TDEE and eating a good amount of protein (1 gram per pound of LBM) that is the best way to reduce body fat while preserving as much muscle as you can (this is assuming you are doing a lifting plan 3-4x a week as well).0 -
How do u figure out what your percentage below TDEE should be?0

So eating at the correct protein macro, but without the lifting plan, is it possible to avoid losing LBM?0

You are going to lose regardless. The question is how much. Eating enough protein, lifting weights and maintaining a modest deficit will reduce the amount of LBM you lose. Two of the three will help but maybe not as much as all three, know what I mean? How much also comes down to the individual and genetics.0 -

Ah, okay. Thanks for the insight. Much appreciated.
