Kind of embarrasing, but I need to ask.....

I am certain I pulled my groin muscle doing the following:

Sigh..... I have a hip and knee problem on the left side, and there is a strength imbalance, the entire right leg being stronger than the left. Actually, the weakness seems to be just on the joint, not necessarily the muscle. Which I suppose stands to reason considering the hip and knee problem. I have been working to get that leg up to par with the other, but I had no idea I could pull any kind of groin muscle doing this exercise. Specifically, here is what happened, I was doing the side plank with knee lift, my weight was balanced on the left, and everything went fine. I switched sides where my weight was on the right, and I was lifting the right knee, that is when I felt that terrible *zing* in my left....:noway: umm.... labia majora..... how can I strengthen this muscle. What exercises target this particular spot? Of course, I guess by this time to morrow I will most likely be only resting that muscle. But once it's all better I need to target that area. Ideas? Suggestions?
I should add, I am able to perform the side plank and have had no problems until the knee lift.
