Weight gain

edited January 23 in Health and Weight Loss
I'm trying to wrap my head around what's going on with me.
From December 2011- July 2012 I lost 30 lbs. from July 2012 - December 2012 I would go down and come back up.
Since January I've gradually increased, adding 8-9 lbs total to date.
I eat in a deficit , 90% clean, workout 6 days a week. Drink 12-14 cups of water daily.

Now since early February I did start increasing my weight lifting routine and I'm running again.
I've played with my calorie goal, but scale doesn't move.
Friends keep saying muscle. But I don't know.
I take measurements every 2 wks. They aren't really moving. Maybe 1/4-1/2 inch but they too keep bouncing.

I don't want to give up. But it's a downer to bust your butt, do everything right with no results.

    Forget the scale....

I wish it was that simple. I just want to be back down.

What is your body fat %? You look great to me... I would cut off my right arm to look that lean lol I think you're getting too wrapped up in the numbers.

I'm 37 and I could have written the original post myself! I am stuck. It does really get frustrating when you are eating well, giving up things you want to eat, and working out and not seeing any improvements. I am way up from my low weight also, I'm hoping it is muscle!

Using online calculators it ranges from 23.8% - 24.5%. Each site has different answer.

I hear ya. I pray mine is muscle. Otherwise something's wrong with me. I recently had blood work done, all was perfect. So thinking its not health related.

I have to guess it is all muscle...I am the same age I do not lift..I do some light strength added into cardio only. While it is harder these days compared to 10 yrs ago to lose..it certainly does happen.

If that is a recent pic of you...I would concentrate on body fat % not the weight scale since I am not sure you have any weight to lose LOL :)

I think there is still room to lose. Just can't seem to get fat loss while gaining muscle. That's my struggle.
