Ramen? - REAL Japanese Ramen

My co-worker and I are going to lunch at a restaurant known for their ramen. I've never had real ramen before... only that processed crap that college kids eat (and it is yum!)

What should I know about real ramen? What tastes good and what is healthy? Today is my treat day, so not too concerned with calories, but want to keep it reasonable!

Real ramen will change your life! Truly! Just absolutely delicious stuff!

There are a few different broth bases that you can choose from. I always go with the salt ramen because, well, it's just bloody delicious. Definitely not salty as you would think it was. Sometimes places don't give you the option of the broth, but if this place does you should totally get salt! :)

You can get some meat on there if you want! It'll be thin slices of meat! I do pork because it's just amazing. Completely melts in your mouth.

There is so much goodness on the top that you forget that there are noodles at the bottom!

I mean, overall, I don't think ramen is insanely unhealthy. It's seriously just soup with like maybe a cup of noodles (depending on how big the bowl is) and some meat on top! Sometimes you even get an egg! ;) So much protein! So bloody good!

I hope you like it! :D

I don't know much about it, except that it is fantastic! My fiance and I will have it a couple times a month, its just a warm bowl of goodness. I found a generic posting that I use when I log my food, its roughly 500 calories, give or take. I also take into account that everyone that works at the restaurant is thin so it cant be too bad for you (yes, that is my uneducated opinion) :)
