Have You Found Someone You Know On MFP

This has not happened to me, but I was curious if anyone has every found someone they know on MFP just by seeing their username, picture, anything. If so, is it someone you grew up with who you haven't seen for years, someone who moved away, or someone you see every day. Just curious.

    Yes, I've seen quite a few people I know on MFP. Most of them are also on my FB.

    Yep. We didn't realize it until a little bit but he was a friend of a guy I dated in high school who I haven't seen since I was 17 I think.

    No, thank goodness. I am much more open on here than I am in real life because of the fact that I don't know anybody/nobody knows me.

    If anybody were to ever find me, I would probably be embarrassed.

    Yeah, I found 3 people that I know. One was an old neighbor from the 70's, and the others were more recent connections. What I have enjoyed is meeting some of the MFP crew at road races around the area.

    There are people that I know that also use mfp, but I've never seen them in the forums (although I am friends with one person I know from outside mfp and have formed friendships from mfp as well). I don't know if the people I know have seen me. But, I agree that I'd feel a little silly if they did. I joke around and sometimes say things I know are not appropriate and not how I usually interact with people in real life. Also, I wouldn't want someone to see me joking and think I was serious.

    I sort of feel the same way. My close friends know that I diet and exercise but I would never advertise on facebook my before pics or anything like that lol.

    And to answer the question, no I have not seen anybody on here that I know from RL, except for one friend that I recruited. Not for lack of trying though, I suggest this site to anybody who mentions they want to lose weight.
