Hey all! I'm not much of message board poster but definitely a constant reader.
I've done lots of reading on lifting and I've seen all the amazing transformations and results...but I'm obese ( 85ish pounds overweight) and I am terrified of getting started. Mostly scared of the typical weight room inhabitants, any tips on how to get past this?

Picture them in their underwear?
Seriously just do it. Once you get there you'll find it isn't nearly as bad as you imagined. Honestly, most people don't even pay attention to who is there and what they are doing.

honestly, just ignore them and everyone else around you; just focus on you. put on your headphones, head to the weight area with your exercise plan and just do it. never mind what they're doing. the more you do this, the more you get used to being in that area and the more confident you will feel.0

just go in there and do your thing. like no one else is in there. you own that gym at the time you are in it. you paid your dues. now do some research on what you would like to accomplish and go in the and get it done.0
