question about diets!

I have a question for those that havee lost so much weight. How did you do it as far as diet? Just counting your calories or eating certain foods. I am counting my calories and am not sure wether i have lost anything or not this is my fifth day. (Without cheating) i am not really consuming all tmy goal calories because am a huge fan of slim fast jus because it has very few calories and is easy i just grab it from the fridge lol. And i guess i may be having more snacks than.actual meals because am.just not good with measuring portions and all that to prepare a meal and still keep count of the calories in it. I guess my question is am i doing this right? Am sure not!! This is what i usually eat.
Breakfast- slim fast
Snack- skinny cow snacks or cucumber with lime juice, salt and hot sauce ( probably weird for u guys..but cant help it ak mexican)
Lunch- tuna salad with very little mayo. Lime juice, cucumber, onion, raw jalapenos, and black pepper
Snack- some jicama or an apple
Dinner- 2 or three egg omelette depending on how many calories i have left with just tomato onion and jalapenos dinner is usually
my biggest meal because is the only one i share with my kids and boyfriend.
Sometimes i replace two meals with a shake, it has worked in the past but only as an emergency diet and this is not what i want to do for the rest of my life. I want to learn how to eat right because i can only have so many shakes before i get tired of them.
Please share your experience. I will appreciate it

1st of all, I'm noton a diet, this a life style.
monday am gym
tuesday am gym pm gym
wed pm karate
thur am gym pm gym
friday am gym
sat karate or gym or walking
sunday walking or hiking or orienteering
food
I eat what i earn from exercise
I eat protein every meal and snack
lots of veg, 2 fruits a day
keep lowish in cabs, but if I want it i have it
I don't eat wheat or gluten I am GF
if I want a wine or choc or anything I have it so long as I have the cals to cover it, if I don't I jump on the treadmill and earn them
drink 8+ glasses a day
get a good nights sleep
track everthing that goes into my mouth
track all exercise, I have a watch thing that does heart rate and cals when I exercise

senseicole random question but why are you called senseicole? In Japanese the 'sensei' is the title so comes after the name...
as for diet, I just stick to my 1800 calories a day, and try and eat well but let myself eat what naturally falls into my day, don't ban any foods and make smart choices.

ditch the slimfast and save yourself some money. Eat a sensible balanced diet within your calorie goals and exercise. Then you'll lose weight and learn how to balance meals for the rest of your life.
Also get some scales and weigh everything without accurately knowing what your consuming you cannot monitor yourself properly0 -

random. I speak Japanese pretty fluently but I don't do martial arts so didn't realise there was a 'western way' . Anyway thanks, I've long wondered about that lol0 -
I don't count calories.. You just need to eat right! fruits and veggies. avoid things like Carbs they are no good., anything processed. I cut out most meats. The only protein I get is maybe from a can of tuna or salmon. I am not a vegan or a vegetarian I am just sick of eating chicken and steak. I switched over and have since dropped 30 plus pounds...0

Thank you guys so much... i. Havent really had any meat other than the tuna am seiously thinking about eliminating red meats from.my diet eggs have always been my best alli when dieting because they keep me full. I am also trying to. Workout but it has been very hard to hit the gym lately because of baby sitting issues so i started doing simple workouts at home i just dont know how to track them.0
