Home Dumbbell Routine

Hi everyone!

I'm looking for some guidance in resistance training. I've decided that it's time to start building muscle, but it's not really feasible for me to get to the gym. I do, however, own a couple of dumbbells.

The question here is as follows: Is it possible to construct a good protocol for building muscle just with dumbbells at home? I don't have a bench, but I could try to get my hands on one. Should I simply do full body a few times a week, or should I to split the workouts? I assume dumbbell routines might lack compound good exercises?

there are plenty of good workouts for you to do at home with dumbbells, but it depends on the weight of the dumbbells. do you have adjustable ones?

You could also try going to Oxygen magazine's website and/or Men's Health magazine websites and search for dumbell workout. Both usually have great workout routines and you can always modify to fit your current fitness level.

Chalean Extreme is an at-home dumbbell strength training routine on DVD. It's a three month program (that can be repeated once you get stronger and can handle even heavier weights). I rather enjoyed it when I did it, but go heavy!!
