I thougt I would share what happened to me yesterday at work. I seen the surgeon (Dr. Felts) that did my surgery talking to Dr Arzabala at the nurses station. When he seen me he was like... "Hey, there you are!" He said he had heard thru the grapevine that I was working so he came to find me and to check how I was doing. I told him I lost 15 lbs last month and was down 60 total. He leaned in to hug me and said, laughing, ...."Ya, you got your chit together!"... I laughed back and said..... "No, actually I got my **** together". Then I said, "but I still have a loooong way to go".
That was when he asked if I shopped at Walmart. "Yes", I said. He told me next time you go I want you to go to the dog food aisle. At this, Dr Arzabala looks up and goes, "where are you going with this? she gonna have to eat dog food?"
"No, when you go, I want you to pick up a 50 lbs bag of dog food and just stand there holding it for awhile". Genius! That put it in perspective for me. I still have a long way to go, that's true. But how many of us can walk around with a 50 lbs bag of dog food for a whole 12 hr shift? or 24 hrs a day? or even 10 minutes?
