I just put bell pepper, squash, tomato, and cucumber seeds in planters. I live in the desert and haven't had great luck with vegetables and herbs, but I keep trying.
  • Nice garden!!

There are lots of wild apple trees here which would be okay for cider but all through the years when my father tried planting them have never had any luck with fruit trees.

My apple tree has three types of apple the only one I can remember is called Anna that is the one that pollenates to other two apple grafts

Very nice! Our climate here is unusual - super cold in the winter and very, very hot & dry in the summer. I just planted my garden too (all be it much smaller). This year we started some raised beds as well. I am so excited as everything put in has been organic. We've got peas, beans, sugar peas, carrots, beets, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow crooked neck, cucumber, onions, cauliflower, corn, radishes and a whole bunch more - including herbs. We also have new grape vines, raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries. I am doing square foot gardening this year and am hopeful to have enough fruits & veggies to freeze for 1/2 the long winter.

Thanks for the inspiration & motivation! It looks wonderful!
